After two days in bed thanks to a cold and Tylenol Cold-induced coma, I may be ready for my first public outing. Tonight it’s New Year’s Eve date-night in Champaign, going to the lovely Bacaro Restaurant for a late dinner with my husband…and hopefully we’ll last till midnight (and if not then east coast midnight is the one that truly counts anyway).

Small world after all
On the plane yesterday chatted it up with friendly New Yorker turned LA-er sitting next to me. After about an hour of talking, mentioned that I’m Ukrainian and she’s like..OMG..my roommate in college was ____ Ukrainian that of course, I know. Note to self-that Kevin Bacon degrees of separation thing=so true.

Winds gusting at 46 mph and I’m not pleased about it. My house shaking and outdoor Christmas decorations blowing away makes me anxious. Not in Kansas anymore.

So my dad forwards me a powerpoint presentation about the wonders of having children. At the end of the email it says, “Save your money. This is the best Christmas present ever!”.
