Doing all sorts of grown-up baby things. Highchair, tryin a puff and found her sleeping happily on her tummy.
Doing all sorts of grown-up baby things. Highchair, tryin a puff and found her sleeping happily on her tummy.
Bright highlight of our otherwise craptastic week. Recovering from the flu and pink eye couldn’t stop us from putting baby K in a party dress to celebrate her friend Madison’s turning one. Her mother is uber talented and oh-so stylin so she created these perfect favors for the baby girls and boys. SO CUTE. Lou and Lee…you’ve officially been schooled.
This weekend we travelled over the Mississippi River (ekk!) to Kansas City to celebrate our good friend Loni’s baby shower. Baby K loved being the center of attention and meeting her smiley aunt Loni. We can’t wait to meet her baby boy once he enters the world in March!
Notes on the sixth month….(well…really 6.5 months!)
* Baby’s first Christmas. Lots of cousins excited to open her gifts with her, lots of QT with our favorite girl. Favorite new gifts = fisher price bee from baba, biker boots and ikea produce from teta tippy, westie outfits from teta talia, new library of ukrainian books from everyone, etc etc…
* Rolling across the room. It started over Christmas, one roll at a time. Now we turn out backs and she’s across the room.
* Started “solids”…into week two of rice cereal which she eats around dinner time…up to 1 tablespoon. How we’re ever going to get to three meals and 1/2 cup of rice…one will never know.
* 14 lbs 3 oz…still a 13% percentile peanut.
* She’s outgrown her beloved swing..but is too short for the jumperoo. These days if we need a hands free moment, we’ll either put her in the ergo or let her roll around in our empty “dining room”.
* Mega alert. Must be a part of the action at all times. Which means pretty much no napping for this girl. She thinks she’s a grown up, sleeping 8-7, eats then sleeps till 9. Maybe a 20-minuter here or there when she’s seduced by her milk but otherwise it’s party time.
* She knows who we are and I die when she’s consoled by the fact alone that mama is the one that is hugging her at the moment. Super sweet.
* Still nursing and at this point have updated my goal to get to 1 year. Facts that make this completely doable: no teeth, STOCKED freezer of milk bags, lack of any problems for mama and I figure it’ll just get easier with less feedings and more transition to real food.
* Can’t believe that it’s been 6 months and our little baby is turning more and more into a little person. I feel like the next 6 months will fly by too and at the end of it we’ll have a walking talking 1 year old. Ekk!
